Biography

Lyda Lammers is born in Delft and lives in Boxmeer since 2005.

Initially she made mosaics.
Via textile techniques (weaving and knots) in the form of tapestries, she finally discovered the advanced possibilities of acryl- and oil paint.
The topics of her work sometimes root in the history, a special meeting, or a book and they become intertwined with dreams, experiences and inspirations.
She is a traveller who lies connections between cultures, religions and mythology.
From the observations she works and transforms this into a tangible sense and perception.
Her work reflects her feelings, where she follows her intuition.

About 10 years ago, sculpturing in natural stone is added to her disciplines.
Lyda works with marble, alabaster, noir de Mazy, travertine, verdite and azul Macaubas.

Painting and sculpting are ways for her to form thoughts and feelings.

Examples of her work can be seen in Jaarboek Kunstenaars 2011, 2012, 2013, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021. Also in the book Beeldende Kunst in Nederland, Edition 3 and 5 and in European Contemporary Artists 2016/2017 and 2019/2020.
